The next prev links that you are referring to go in the same order they have always gone in. Nothing has changed on those.
What has changed is the display order of the thumbnail block as those are decided on the sorts. This is what has got you all thinking things are backwards. If I am viewing Photo 216 on my site and hit next as I said it properly goes to 217 and prev to 215 therefore there is nothing wrong
Test this yourself and you will see I am correct. Now if you really want to change the order just do something like change the bold and 1 and 3 around here in showphoto.php
