When you upgrade the upgrade instructions state to upload the files and run upgrade.php and select the required upgrades.
You have not ran your upgrade script. Make sure you have uploaded all the new required files especially those in the forums directory under the download
Do not run any upgrades I did that part for you
. All you should need to do at this point is make sure all the files are 5.3 that are uploaded.
