Chuck,

This feature just assures that no one can wait until the last minute and outbid someone who was willing to pay more and let the "clock" work to their advantage.

If after the last bid is entered the time on the clock is extended by what ever "X" minutes, say 5 mins (set by the admin of the site), that allows other bidders who were or are willing to pay more than the "sniper" to have a chance at bidding on the item for more money in the next 5 minutes. If no one places their higher bid within that next 5 mins then the auction is closed and the high bidder gets the item.

After all wasnt that the original intention of an Auction, who ever bids the highest is the one who gets the item? Not who can get their bid in before the clock runs out?

Anyway thats what this feature called "Sniper Protection" is "suppose" to do or accomplish, Buddy.

Doug
