Fixed.
Needed to change "uf.field2" in vb3.php to "uf.field10". My
vb install is a very old one, and has the user 'location' field under 'field10'.
Funny how that 'unrecoverable error' just went away...
One last minor thing. In my footer instead of version info it says:
