The links aren't made during the install process. They are read from the XML file with vBulletin 3.5.

If you downloaded Gallery 1.0.1 for 3.5 a while back, try downloading it again and get the updated XML file. All you need to do is send up the new XML file over the old one. No need to re-run the install/upgrade process.
