That's been a feature for quite a while. And unlike PhotoPost, you can set any category to be a Members' Category. There's also a hack available in the hacks forum here to add a "global" members' category where it will show all images a user has uploaded.
Could you elaborate on this one? It's been quite a while since I've really looked at PP, but the last I saw there wasn't anything too special about their commenting system.

There have been instructions posted on here for that a couple of times I believe. That should also be a default option soon.
