although i link it to 1/image.jpg it comes up with the red x box with the link proprty of

What permission error? The link is invalid and when i supply the url to 1/whatever.jpg it comes with a red x and a gap, and a link to /array instead.
you wont see the error now because i removed the link obviuosly. it looks ugly when its boxed.
yes i tried thumbnail too
