OK, i see that. thanks, i was going crazy looking in the admin.
so with the code change and that box checked, doing a search from search.php works great
still one more issue: which i brought up
here is that on a page that has sub-categories and has the link to "Search This Category" it still only searches that category but not the sub-categories of that cat.
any ideas on how to fix that?
