CMPS and Gallery are two unique products so they'll happily exist either by themselves or with each other. Installing CMPS after Gallery shouldn't have any ill effects.
As of yet there are no Gallery hacks to do the random images in forumhome; if time permits I'll knock it out (we're expecting a big snow storm this weekend and I won't have anything else to do
) but no promises on a timeline.
