The watermark is just an image overlay that will be placed on any images that are uploaded.
This would be a good example of a watermark - The "Hosted at livingwithstyle.com" image in the bottom corner.
As for bulk uploading images, there are options to allow for FTP bulk uploads (this is explained in the readme.html file right below the file changes section).
